One of the most interesting hits last year, 2021, was Big Shot. Big Shot is a sports-based American television show that was primarily centred around the sport of basketball. The story follows the life of Marvyn Korn, who was recently fired from his job. He used to be a basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin at NCAA division 1, but he was known for being very temperamental.
After losing his job, he moves to California and becomes a coach for a girls’ basketball team at a high-class school for girls Westbrook High. The story follows his interactions with the girls, and their developing sports abilities form the crux of the series. Although the show is filled with elements of comedy, it is really about the girls and their coach growing as individuals and learning heartfelt lessons on the way.
Big Shot Season 1 began airing on 16 April 2021. The season ran for ten episodes. The series was renewed for a second season in September 2021. The creators of the show are David E. Kelley, Dean Lorey, and Brad Garett. John Stamos was in the role of Marvyn Korn, and he will be returning in Season 2. Jessalyn Gilsig had bagged the role of Holly Barrett, and Yvette Nicole Brown was in the role of Sherilyn Thomas.

Big Shot Season 1: Recap
Big Shot Season 1 followed the rickety story of Marvyn Korn and the girls’ basketball team at Westbrook High. As Marvyn, our main character, grows from his restless temperamental self into a mentor bringing together a cohesive team, and as the girls bond and learn and grow together, they advance through matches competing with other schools. Season 1 ran for ten episodes, and the last episode was titled “Marvyn’s Playbook”.
The episode aired on 18 June 2021. The promise of the episode is that Westbrook High needs just one more win to make it to Division 2. However, they realize that their playbook is missing, and they suspect Carlsbad of having stolen it. The episode starts with Marvyn waking up from his nightmares about his daughter laughing at him. The viewers then find out that he has an offer from his agent, Sam, with the UCSB to help him return to college basketball. This leads to him having a fight with his daughter right before school.
Holly discovers that Samantha has lost her playbook, and they suspect Carlsbad because Jake had come as Olive’s guest. Holly refuses to coach their new plays. She also has an offer to coach from Carlsbad. The girls finally tell Marvyn about the book and the cyberbullying before they agree that they need him to be their coach. The girls each have their own struggles to deal with, but the episode wraps them up nicely.
Big Shot Season 2 Episode 1: Preview
Big Shot Season 2 Episode 1 is going to air soon, and fans are excited about how it will unfold. Disney+ released a trailer for the season on 11 September 2022. The show begins with the girls walking on the beach, complaining that summer is not over yet. They run into their coach, who seems to be scouting for players in a beach volleyball game, and he has eyes on one girl who he thinks will make his team better.
The girls are preparing for D2, and coach Marvyn shows a glimpse of one of his pep talks, telling the girls to prepare for what is coming. He seems to be determined to get them through the tournament, but there seem to be clashes among the players.
But the twist for this season seems to be that Westbrook High is becoming co-ed! This means that there will be boys now. While this seems like it is exciting news for a girls’ school, it actually isn’t. Having boys seems to create a whole set of new problems, and for Marvyn, he is being forced to share his court. This seems like it will lead to further conflicts between Emma and her father as well. Fans are curious to see how amidst the chaos, the girls will have the time to prepare for their new divisions and how they are going to solve all these new issues.
