DePrimo, 67, of Dunmore, died Saturday morning at home. He was married to the former Debra Searfoss. The couple had celebrated their 28th anniversary last year.
Born in Dunmore, son of the late Joseph and Carmela Cali DePrimo, he attended Scranton Technical High School. He was a past member of the Throop United Methodist Church and before retirement, he was employed as a supervisor for the Scranton Garment Co. Also surviving are two sons, Salvatore and Joseph, both at home; and two daughters, Elizabeth, at home; and Holly, Georgia; a brother, Joseph and wife, Roberta, Taylor; three sisters, Grace Bisignani and husband, Robert, Scranton; Rosalie Mola-nar and husband, Romand, Scranton; and Josephine DePrimo, Clarks Summit; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Animal Shelter and left with a mission. Fueled by his passion about animals, the Blakely man wanted to organize a fundraiser to help support the shelter.
On June 8, Mr. Mancuso led a pack of motorcycle riders from Electric City Harley-Davidson in Dickson City to A.J.'s Club Soda in Blakely, as part of the annual Friends of the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter ride. The event, which also featured a post-ride cookout, live music and raffle prizes, raised more than $11,000, Mr. Mancuso said. All proceeds benefit the shelter's veterinary care fund.
The nonprofit provides shelter, food and medical care to about 6,000 animals each year. "It was a tremendous showing of support from the community, and it more than doubled what we raised last year," Mr. Mancuso said. "Next year is going to be even bigger."
