[ laughter ] that's right, tonight was the last night of the democratic national convention, and vice president harris officially accepted the nomination for president. [ cheers and applause ]

a lot can change in a month. right now, kamala's campaign headquarters are buzzing while biden's have been turned into a a spirit halloween. [ laughter ] yeah, that's interesting. meanwhile, last night, tim walz officially accepted the nomination to be vice president. [ cheers and applause ] now, a month ago nobody knew tim walz, and now he's famous. [ laughter ] even the hawk tua girl was like, "damn, that was quick." [ laughter ] well, this is going viral, last night, oprah made a surprise appearance at the convention, and she called out j.d. vance's comment about childless cat ladies. but watch what the camera guy did next. >> when a house is on fire, we don't ask about the homeowner's race or religion. and if the pace -- place happens to belong to a a childless cat lady -- [ laughter ] >> steve: hey!

[ sad tuba ] what? >> jimmy: i love that she looked behind her like, "please let this be somebody else. [ laughter ] i am not -- i'm not a child --" why would you -- yeah, i don't know. last night at the dnc, the poet amanda gorman made an appearance to recite some of her work. [ cheers and applause ] but i think it inspired a bunch of other political figures to publish their own poems. >> steve: really? >> jimmy: yeah, check these out. like for instance, donald trump wrote, "there is no one worse than kamala, except maybe if you count obamala. do i have a lisp? not a chance. so vote for me and j.d. vanth." [ laughter and applause ] "j.d. vanth." >> jimmy: next up, joe biden wrote, "i can't relate to desperation, my give-a-effs are on vacation. am i retired? i guess so. that's that me me espresso." "donald, get the hell away. i have another headache today. it's about time i share this. i'm voting for kamala harris." [ cheers and applause ] and finally, barack obama wrote, "i was so young back in the day. now they call me 'fifty shades of grey.' [ laughter ] trump calls himself a 'stable genius,' but this week i made fun of his -- crowd size. [ cheers and applause ] ♪ talking about his crowd size. >> steve: yeah. "uh, crowd size." >> jimmy: hey, guys, listen to this. next month, former president trump is hosting a j6 awards gala with rudy giuliani, to pay tribute to all january 6th defendants who have shown, quote, "incredible courage and sacrifice." yeah. when they heard, the fbi was like, "we'll be there." [ laughter ] you guys, with the election season in full swing, trump and harris are saying some harsh things about one another, so we though it would be nice to give you a little break and hear them say some really nice things about each other. it's time for "political

[ laughter ] >> i think the ladies prefer "complicated." >> jimmy: that's much better, yeah. >> but yeah, it's wild. >> jimmy: it's a psychological thriller. it goes to dark places. it's an entertaining ride. it's funny, but there's some real intense moments. >> yeah, i mean, it's -- it is a roller coaster of emotions. there are -- there are elements of it that are -- are very fun. but there are also, you know, we explore themes like power, the abuse of power, sexual abuse. so, it is important that the audience does know that going in, because i do, you know, want the audience to feel taken care of and to feel safe. >> jimmy: yeah. >> but it's a -- it's a wild roller coaster.
